Monster Clay

There are several people out there that make Halloween masks and use WED (Walt E. Disney) clay. This clay is real soft and takes some time to dry out and when taken care of while sculpting like covering and keeping wet while not in use. It is great stuff and I have enjoyed using it.
What I have found and have waiting on trying out is Monster Clay.
The following is a description from The Monster Makers website.

Monster Clay® Premium Grade Modeling Clay is a re-usable sulfur free, professional oil/wax based sculpting medium. Composed entirely of non-toxic, food grade components, Monster Clay® has an ultra smooth formulation that features a low melt temperature and a low tack feel that will not stick to tools or fingers. Monster Clay has high plasticity and has a unique elastic quality much like soft taffy when warm. At average room temperature Monster is firm enough to capture even the finest details and can be re-used and re-melted indefinitely. Monster Clay melts easily to a pourable consistency and is great for making copies of life casts where changes are needed. This sulfur free recipe is compatible with platinum silicone molding compounds. Buy it once and re-use it over and over again. Each five pound quantity of Monster Clay® Premium is individually packaged in a convenient, reusable ovenable container. Best of all Monster Clay has lower density than the average oil based clays. This means that you receive approximately 25% more clay per pound without the added cost.

I just started getting in to the art of making masks for Halloween and small items for props and because of my busy schedule, I'm not able to sit and work on one piece for several hours at one time and Monster Clay is perfect. For me I have to step back and stare at the sculpture in order to see if I'm headed in the right direction or if I need to add something elsewhere or to start over all together. This stuff allows you to do just that. You can just clean off your armature and put the clay back in the container to be used later.

TransWorld's Halloween & Attraction Show

TransWorld's Halloween & Attractions Show
It has been long times sense my last posting. There have been a lot of activity and planning for the upcoming Halloween season. I know it's only the end of January but with me working full time, starting my senior year in college, and planning to attend TransWorld.

For those of you who don't know what that is, I copied this from their website "TransWorld’s Halloween & Attraction show is the ONLY industry trade show of its kind in the world.  There is no other show that has as many exhibitors and industry related products. For the last 19 years, TransWorld’s annual Halloween & Attractions show has created the market place for the Haunted House industry. Each year the Industry gathers to network, get new ideas and purchase products.  This show is a MUST ATTEND event if you are thinking about opening or currently operate a Haunt, Corn Maze, Farm, Pumpkin Patch, Paint Ball Field, Family Fun Center, Amusement Park, Zoo, Aquarium, Halloween Retail Store or anything Halloween related.  We have everything you need to make your Halloween season a success.   Each year, the show continues to grow with NEW EXHIBITORS, NEW PRODUCT, and more buyers on the show floor. The Halloween & Attractions Show combines the products and knowledge of over 300 exhibitors that you need to see this March!

I'll be there when the doors open and stay until they kick me out Thursday - Sunday.
I also have a back stage pass to see The Darkness with the lights on to see how they were able to pull off "America's Best Haunted House".

Stop by and see up dated pictures from the show floor.

AMC The Walking Dead

I just picked up a new set of The Walking Dead building set. This one is called The Governor's Room. It has great details in it. They have great looking floorboards. The furniture is nice and looks like it did in the episodes. Here are a few pictures of the set. The detail as you can see in the pictures are really good. The picture were taken with the iPhone 6Plus. The set cost me $32 with tax. There are single figures available in mystery packs on Amazon. the sets are also on Amazon but you may be able to find them at your local Toys R Us. They are not for sell at any other retailers unless it is at your local comic book store.Right now there are only 3 sets available that I can find. The last set that I have yet to by is the Daryl Dixon on his bike. That will be bought in a couple of days. I will add every set I get on this blog. I have also put on youtube a video of this set. Remember that these figures are only 2 inches tall. One thing with this set that I didn't know could do or did, is that the lights on the tanks come on from the bottom. you can see this better with the video.
