Grim Stitch Factory

Photo from Facebook

My First post leading up to Transworld next week (3/18/15) is dedicated to Grim Stitch Factory.
For those whom have never met the man behind the art they should, as I will be able to do this next week. I first learned about this place while researching on how to make a realist looking skin mask. this was a picture that I found that push me to hassle this guy to tell me how to do it.

For those that think this is gross is only looking at it from the thought that this is real. to some extent it is. There is information on his website that I invite everyone to look at. When I look at his work I see the beauty in the art and what it takes to do it. I have badgered the man too much to find out the process of what is done to get the effect but like a true artist, I was only given hints and elements to some of what it takes to make one but not the process itself. Which is fine because I spent the money buying the items and practiced a few times to duplicate one of these for me to wear in the Haunted House that I work in. I think I was on the right road to being able to get my own started, but I also work 50 hours a week and I am completing my undergrad degree so my thought process was not focused on where I would want it to be which is in the art of creating masks. But this allowed me to appreciate his work that much more. The man behind the masks is just as interesting as his creations. I have included this picture of what he says is his workshop. I looks great and you can get all kinds of inspirations for all things horror related just by looking at the pictures not to mention being immersed in the feel of the room. this picture was also taken from his website Grim Stitch Factory

My wife doesn't like what I have done with my office because I have started to add things to the surrounding much like his workspace. My wife doesn't like it because that where we sit and watch TV at night and she says it creeps her out. I just see it as a win for me.

Whether you are in the market for a mask for Halloween, add to a collection, or even if you have been planning on creating a character for a movie, you should start with this guy. Find him on Facebook, Twitter, and on the web.
I look forward to meeting the make behind all these creations at Transworld 2015.

Horror Movies for 2015

As I stated in my first post, I am a huge horror fan. I enjoy horror for movies of all kinds. There are some that I seek to watch and there are others that I watch just to say "Someone made that?". We all can agree there are some that have a great build up but when it hits the big screen, our expectations were let down. For low budget movies I suggest watching them on some kind of on-line streaming service like Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon, or even youtube. But right here I'm going to give you the layout of the Horror movies that are planed for the year 2015 release. The reason that I am listing movies here is because I have searched several sites that have listings of everything with no information and some have not updated anything at all. I hope this list helps you out. If the movie has a website, I'll post a link to it.

Movies that I was able to locate but was not able to find a release date.

Archie- The comic book with zombies.

XX- Not much is known at this time other than it will have all female directors with short stories and is produced by the people who were involved with making Tusk.

WolfCop II- I have not seen nor have heard of WolfCop I.

Ebola Zombies- As fast as it came in to the news concerning Americans, it left the same way. But someone decided to make a movie.

The Purge 3- If 3 is anything like the first 2 films, it too will be a hit.

The Exorcism of Molly Hartley- You may not see this release in your local theater but I'm sure you find it streaming sometime soon.

Yoga Hosers- It claims to be a comedy horror written and directed by Kevin Smith and staring Johnny Depp, it looks like a rip off of Two Broke Girls. I'm not a Kevin Smith fan.

The Final Girls-

Lobo- I would not normally list this as a horror movie but I'm sure the brutality of it pushes the subject matter in that direction.

Predator- The creature is getting some updates for a new generation.

Haeger's Pass- No information about this film other that a trailer that looks like you will find it streaming before you can buy a ticket.

Lake Placid Vs. Anaconda- I have no idea where this film will travel through.

Origins-

The Chair-

February- A possession movie

The Hallow-

The Neon Demon-

Everto- Watch at your own risk (soon to stream)

31- This is a Rob Zombie creation with October 31st being the subject. Halloween night. It is one film that I can't wait to see.

Goodnight Mommy A Fine Hello- It was not made in the US, I have seen many films that are not and were quit good. This movie has subtitles. I will look for it when it gets on-line.

Mr. Right-

The New Family-

Lavalantula- The star of this movie is Steve Guttenburg, enough said.

Day of the Dead- This is a second remake of George A. Romero's classic with the slow zombies we enjoy.

We are Monsters-

The Dooms Chapel Horror-

It Follows-

Fetish Factory-

The Boy-

The Final Table-

Cabin Fever- Looks like a great movie. You should keep an eye out for the release near you.

The Diabolical- A paranormal spirit in the film.

Bone Tomahawk- This movie has a few recognizable stars with the lead being Kurt Russell.

Maggie- A zombie infection movie involving a little girl named "Maggie".

The Wolves of Savin Hill- The film is completed but there is not much information on it. There are some recognizable faces but it doesn't look to be an award winner.

1/2/15 The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death- Looks to be as good as the first.

1/2/15 [REC] Apocalypse- This one should be as good as all the rest.

1/16/15 Frankenstein- This one stars Daniel Radcliffe as Igor, it is a twist on Mary Shelley's classic.

1/20/15 The Confines-

1/20/15 The Atticus Institute-

1/31/15 Gilgamesh-

2/3/15 Zombie Killers: Elephant's Graveyard-

2/27/15 The Vatican Tapes-

3/13/15 Muck- After viewing the trailer for this movie, it has some bad actors but it looks to be a bloodbath kind of movie.

3/13/15 Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension-These movies are still hitting rock solid. Everyone I've talked to love these movies and can't wait for all new ones to be released.

5/ /15 The Encounter-

6/5/15 Insidious Chapter 3- This is a prequel to the first.

6/ /15 Sharknado 3- Who knew that this would have been made much less that there was 3 parts.

7/10/15 The Gollows- Watchers beware

7/24/15 Poltergeist- This is a whole new remake of the first film. It looks to be a good attempt.

8/21/15 Sinister 2- If you like the first one why not make a second one.

9/11/15 The Visit- This is a M. Night Shyamalan movie that I can't wait to get more information about.

10/16/15 Crimson Peak-

10/30/15 Scouts Vs. Zombies-

11/13/15 Friday the 13th- Remake? Reboot? squeal?

11/25/15 Krampus- If you don't know what Krampus is related to Christmas, you should look it up.

The Start of Something New

The new year is just around the corner. 2014 held a long list of new experiences that I have enjoyed everything I have learned and the people I have meet.
2015 is going to be epic with a long list of activities, events, more people to know, stuff to build, and new memories to create.
My bio is a simple one.
I was born in 1969 which allowed me to enjoy many developments in many things that I have grown to love. I hope to list each one of my interests and follow up with as much information on those subjects as I can find throughout the internet and with life experiences. There will be dull spots that might not draw in a crowd but there will be demos that I will be posting related to Halloween and horror movies.
I enjoy two of the theme parks that cover the United States. My first theme park is The Walt Disney World Resorts. I spent three short years working there and I enjoyed  every minute of it. One of the perks of working there is that you can visit each of the four major places during operating hours for free. For those that have dependents, will also enjoy the parks along with you as well. My oldest son enjoyed being able to go everyday that I was off work. At the time I worked there they had a daycare on the property, on our way there sometimes we would be lucky enough to be stopped to watch them bring out the train that much of the time we would ride later that day. Disney is full of details fit for all ages, but is still advertises to families. My family has grown older and so has our taste of theme parks. Disney will always be a place to go with the family when there are more little ones.
The second theme park is the Universal Studios in Orlando which includes both the Studio and Island of Adventures. My first time there was when it had first opened. I had a couple of family members that worked there and we were able to enjoy more than just the rides. Although I never had the chance to ride the Jaws ride, I did however enjoy Kong. It was my favorite because you were up in a cable car looking down on the streets which was loaded with activity. That also means that you were closer to King Kong which at one point you found yourself in his clutches. But all that is gone and the new area of interest for tons of travelers in the new Harry Potter areas in the two parks. For me now I have brought back my strong interest in Halloween and all things related. So I when I found myself back in Florida 2013 from South Carolina I went to Universal Studios Florida's Halloween Horror Nights. From that point on I have started setting the opening weekend to attend. They do haunts at such a high level that it is difficult not to enjoy it. I enjoy sitting on one of the benches in the area and watch people get chased around. The Haunted Industry is where I have been drawn to ever sense that first Halloween Horror Nights in 2013.
The Haunt Industry is a large and ever growing industry with followers of all ages. Also in 2013 I joined a Haunted Attraction where I play the cult classic character from the 1974 movie classic "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". I enjoyed the art of the movie where the horror wasn't so much what you saw but what your mind thought you saw. With the haunt that I am involved with we try to recreate some of the iconic scenes placed along in a series of horror ideas that scare people for their enjoyment.
All these subjects and more I hope to cover and update for as many people as I can to enjoy. I have projects to build that I will be posting pictures as soon as I can while they are being constructed. Future trips to all these places and more will also be uploaded. My next trip that is being planned is to Transworld. Transworld is a haunt convention where people from all over the country go to buy and experience what is new for the upcoming Halloween season. I will be posting as many pictures and videos as I can.
One of my favorite shows that I have enjoyed at the start of the show is AMC's The Walking Dead. One of the reasons for liking the show so much is that they film the show just a few hundred miles away and I have visited some of the locations where the filming had taken place. This show is also an inspiration for me to start sculpting in clay for masks and props for Halloween and the haunt industry. I will be adding pictures and posts of my creations as it is being built.
There is one other topic or product that I will be added as well. this is toy related. The toy of choice for me is Legos. I have several sets of Legos and I will continue to add more to my collection. I give you reviews of what sets I have built and some that I do not have but would like to add.
I ask that if you have questions and/or requests please comment.
